Vera Institute of Justice Report and Fact Sheet to Assist in Building Effective Partnerships for Quality Postsecondary Education in Correctional Facilities

In 2015, the U.S. Department of Education introduced the Second Chance Pell Pilot Program that supports postsecondary education programs in correctional facilities. The program restores eligibility for Pell grants to incarcerated students and aims to increase access to higher education. This website features a report and a fact sheet about developing quality postsecondary education programs in facilities. These resources are meant “to support the implementation of new partnerships and strengthen existing ones between colleges and corrections agencies.”
