PathNet Program, Puget Sound Educational Service District
PathNet is a systems-change initiative that coordinates educational advocates from a range of youth-serving organizations, institutions, and schools to offer skill development and case management to at-risk youth, including those involved in the juvenile justice system. PathNet’s goal is to promote achievement of a diploma, GED, or vocational certificate and engagement in career planning. PathNet consists of four cornerstones: a strength-based assessment, a student driven plan, a care manager who fosters the youth’s education and vocational goals, and access and connection to education and employment training.
Among other initiatives, PathNet implemented a two-year pilot program in the Puget Sound Educational Service District targeting young people on probation who had dropped out of school and connecting them with educational and vocational support.
